Trailer Running Lights Not Working when Connected to a 1998 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 98 f150. I was not getting power for my parking lights and running lights. So I bought a good used harness for truck tail lights. After changing it out I still have no power on the parking lights for the trailer. The lights work perfect for the truck. Confounded??

Helpful Expert Reply:
Your 1998 Ford F-150 uses relays and fuses for the tow package wiring and these are separate from the truck's lights. the fuse/relays related to the tow package lights are:
In-cab panel locations 18 and 23
Under hood locations 1 and 16
Checking fuses is easy but for a relay the best way to check it is to use a known good relay in place of a potential bad one. If relays are missing then you would need to get replacements from a Ford dealer.
