The FlexLED is one of the best ways to add light to any vehicle. Incredibly versatile, FlexLED is water resistant, can be cut to size and joined again, and comes complete with the highest quality 3M foam tape backing that adheres to almost any surface. Equally useful on interiors and exteriors, FlexLED uses energy efficient and high output LED chips mounted on a slim, flexible strip. Today we're going to be taking a look at part number ALP77426. These are the flexible blue LED light strips. The part number's going to include 2 light strips, each one measuring about 12 inches long. They're going to feature the nice, sleek, low profile designs. They're going to work great as light strips for your head lights, mirrors, tail lights and other areas on the vehicle. It can be used for interior and exterior applications.
Each strip is going to contain 18 LED's. Nice flexible design allows them to contour to curved surfaces allowing for custom and creative installs. They are also going to feature a nice water resistant design. Here on the back side, each strip's going to feature the 3M self adhesive backing. Just peel that backing off, then you can stick this to you installation surface. Another neat feature about these LED strips is that they can be cut to size so you can customize the length that you need.
You just cut at the pre-determined points marked by the small scissor icon. Those are going to run the full length of the LED strip. Very easy to install on 12 volt systems. It's going to come with some detailed instructions on the packaging. Again, you're going to get 2, 12 inch strips and then each piece is going to feature a two wire design. One for power and one for ground.
Again, very easy to install on 12 volt systems. We're going to go ahead and turn off our overhead lights that way we can turn on our strip lights and you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Send out a nice, strong, consistent signal. Again, these are going to be your blue LED's. Again, we're going to have 18 LED's per strip. You're going to get both strips with this part number.

- Recommended Toggle Switch For Turning LED Lights On and Off When Connected To BatteryThe Alpena FlexLED - 24" Interior/Exterior Blue Lights # ALP77426 draw only 0.24 amps so if they are directly wired to the battery, they will stay on for a very long time before the battery will drain completely. I recommend you add a switch to your lights like the Pollak Light-Duty Toggle Switch - On-Off - 12 Volt - 10 Amp - 6" Wire Leads # PK34513 so you can turn your lights on and off without disconnecting the positive battery terminal each time.

- Installing Alpena FlexLED Light StripThe Alpena FlexLED, # ALP77426 are 12 Volt lights. You will simply need to connect to a 12 Volt source running the wires in whatever routing (possibly drilling a hole) needed to reach connecting point selected. I suggest you not connect directly to battery but to a 12V circuit that has an off switch. Or, install an on/off switch such as the the Pollak Light-Duty Toggle Switch, # PK34513.

Unfortunately, we do not carry any of the Alpena FlexLED - 24" # ALP77426 lights that specifically come in white. However, with that being said, we do carry the white 24" Buyers Products LED Light Strip # 3375622537. The Buyer's Products strip comes with the same 3M adhesive backing as the Alpena FlexLED for easy installation.

So you'll need to use a switch to power this off and on as needed. We don't have switches that would be ideal or discreet enough for a motorcycle application though so your best option would be to find a small switch elsewhere.
