One Year Old Wiring Harness Shows Constant Power on Right Turn and Brake Circuit, 2003 Chevy Venture
Question:
I bought the wiring kit for a 2003 checy venture. I connected it and everything worked great. This year We brought the trailer out to use and we found that the right passenger side is constantly on. Using a voltimeter I have determined that the last prong in the four prong connector is constantly charged on the van side. How can I fix this?

It sounds like the converter has gone bad in wiring harness # C55355 for your 2003 Chevrolet Venture. This can occur from a number of reasons. Corrosion buildup could cause a short. Check the trailer side and vehicle side connectors for corrosion and clean it out.
Make sure the main converter ground is attached to a clean bare metal surface. Moving the ground might help. Also make sure the main trailer ground is good and that it and all of the trailer lights are grounded to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.
If you do all of these things and the converter is still not working properly then that would indicate a problem with the internal circuitry of the converter and it will need to be replaced.
