Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2020 Buick Envision

Question:

So, if I used the RM-523196-5 with the RM-520 tow bar, I wouldnt need the BX88185 adapter kit, would I? I also wouldnt need the crossbar that comes with tow bar, correct? I rather like the Blue Ox Patriot BLU37TR braking system for its apparent ease of use wireless feature and removability, in the event one changes tow vehicles. That would work? The Envision manual instubts the removal of two fuses, which, supposedly prevents battery discharge, but I have read that seems not always to be the case, So would I be needing an RM-9332 battery charge line also? Also, .......again, would the RM-4750 Tow Defender be advisable? Its a brand new car, after all. And yes, I do need a 4 inch hitch, too. Please have a look at the attachment and tell me if thats all gonna work for me. Thanks so much, PS Happy New Year

That's correct, if you used the Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523196-5 with the Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 you wouldn't need the Blue Ox Adapter Brackets # BX88185 to tow your 2020 Buick Envision (and you wouldn't need to use the crossbar that comes with the tow bar). Just be sure you pick up a pair of safety cables like part # RM-643 as well.

The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is a very popular choice for a portable braking system and would allow you to transfer the kit to future vehicles, which is one of the reasons why people like it so much. Removing the fuses in locations 29 and 32 in your instrument panel fuse box (or installing 2 of the Fuse Bypass Switch # RM76512 ) would keep your battery from draining while towing, according to your owner's manual, but if you wanted to install the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 in addition to the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 to ensure your battery doesn't drain, I don't see why that would be a problem (and this is actually a pretty common solution). You will just want to route the wire from your battery to the center pin of the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267.

The Tow Defender # RM-4750 is a great addition to help keep your new vehicle safe from road debris that might be kicked up by your motorhome, and if you have a 4" difference in height you can use the 4" High-Low Adapter # RM-048-4 to help keep your tow bar level.

I wasn't able to see the attachment but I'm guessing that it was a screenshot of an order. So just to make sure we are on the same page, here is a summary list of the parts mentioned above that you can use:

Base Plate Kit - # RM-523196-5
Tow Bar - # RM-520
Safety Cables - # RM-643
Braking System - # BRK2016
Fuse Bypass Switch - # RM76512 (2 of these if you choose to install them)
Charge Line Kit - # RM-156-25
12 Volt Outlet Kit - # RM-9332
Wiring Kit - # RM-15267
Tow Defender - # RM-4750
High-Low Adapter - # RM-048-4
