A supplemental braking system is a requirement in most states now, so you would need to consult your local state laws to find out if it is required where you live. Even if it is not, a supplemental braking system is a very good idea because it makes flat towing a vehicle such as your 2017 Buick Envision much safer because it will allow your RV to stop at a quicker pace. A supplemental system is also going to put much less strain on the braking system and chassis of your RV and Buick which is much better for both vehicles.

The supplemental braking system I highly recommend for you is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 or, if your motor home has air brakes, the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243 because they not only give you effective braking, but are a one-time install which will never require any type of removal or reactivation.

Along with the braking system, here are other parts needed in order to flat tow your 2017 Buick Envision:

- Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523188-5
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522
- Safety Chains: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Fuse Bypass: Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicle - (2) 20-Amp ATM Mini-Fuses # RM76512

You may also need a high-low adapter in order to keep your '17 Envision level, and I've added a link to a help article which shows you how to determine if you need an adapter as well as a link to our selection of adapters.

Additionally, I have added links to instruction manuals and video reviews for you to check out.
