Comparing The Roadmaster Invisibrake And Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Supplemental Braking Systems

Question:

I tow a 2007 Tacoma behind my classs c motorhome. I am interested in installing a permanent mount braking system and would like a comparison of available models. Install is not an issue. I have looked Demo and Roadmaster, but not sure of the advantages of each model. What info should I look at to make a decusuon.

There are a few differences between the Demco Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor # DM86VR and the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700. The biggest difference between the two is related to the installation, because while the # DM86VR can be mounted in the engine bay to minimize the space taken up inside the cab the # RM-8700 will have to be placed in the cab and is quite large.
This size and mounting requirement typically causes a lot of issues because space is always limited inside the vehicle so more people prefer the # DM86VR.

When it comes to monitoring your system the # DM86VR has a much nicer indicator light that will plug in to a 12v outlet versus the tiny indicator light and buzzer that comes with the # RM-8700 that you have to splice and drill into your motorhome's dash. The sensitivity settings are a bit more clearer on the # RM-8700 since you're using a psi gauge versus the knob on the G-force controller of the # DM86VR that has no indicators on it, besides "More Sensitive" and "Less Sensitive".

Both of these systems are great and are backed by great companies that have been more than helpful to me whenever I've had a question or needed help, which is so important to me as someone who sees a majority of companies leaving the consumer with zero support. If I had to choose between the two systems I would have to choose the # DM86VR solely on the fact that it'll be hidden in the engine bay to avoid having something else in the way in the cab.
