Can Passenger Side Optronics Light Be Used on Both Sides of Trailer
Question:
question, why do I need a right and left hand side? In Mn we do not have license plates on most boat trailers. What is different between under 80inch and over? thanks

If you don't have a need for a license plate on your boat trailer then there's no reason you can't use the Optronics LED Trailer Light - Passenger Side # STL56RB (which doesn't include the license plate light) on both sides of the trailer. The license plate light is the only difference between the two assemblies.
The "Over 80/Under 80" designations you see on some lights have to do with the trailer's width. A trailer that is wider than 80 inches requires additional side markers and clearance lights so full kits with that designation will include those assemblies as well.
I have attached a great article on this subject below that you can look through as well if you are interested.
