Replacement 6" wide x 3-1/2" Tall Tail Lights For Boat Trailer
Question:
The tail lights on my boat trailer are 6 wide x 3 1/2 tall x 2 1/4 deep. I would like to replace both tail lights. Do I have to buy the exact same size or can I buy tail lights that are close to that size. Im interested in the led lights. Do you have any tail lights that would work for me ? Thank you

I'll start out by saying that you don't necessarily have to use the same sized lights, but it's occasionally helpful when it comes to mounting them. However, if you're not replacing like for like, the odds that your new lights will have the exact mounting pattern or method is unlikely. I'll also add that if your other trailer lights are incandescent, this isn't really a recommended setup. The problem is the amount of power required by each type. LEDs require much less power incandescent lights. If one of each where on the same circuit, the draw from the incandescent lights could damage the LEDs.Although I have seen and heard of it being done successfully so it does not seem to be a hard and fast rule. But we still recommend either going all LED or all incandescent to lessen the likelihood of any potential electrical problems.
When it comes to replacing your 6" wide x 3-1/2" tall tail lights, the LED Trailer Tail Light - 6 Function - Submersible - 18 Diodes - Rectangle - Red Lens - Passenger # STL56RB and # STL57RB (driver's side) would be a good choice. These are submersible lights, so they're ideal for boat trailers. These are multi-function lights, so they'll provide you with, stop, tail, turn, side marker light, side reflex reflector, rear reflex reflector, and (driver's side light) license plate light.
I've linked a review video of these lights for you to have a look at. If you also need LED clearance lights for your trailer and can provide a photo of those, I can look to see if we have anything that would serve as a good replacement for those as well.
