Should the double lip seal or area on spindle where seal rides get lubricated with a little grease when installing? Or, should the grease seal go in as is?

Yes, when installing Grease Seal # GS-2125DL you do want to put some grease on the spindle to help the seal slide on. If you go to about the 1:35 mark of the linked video, you can see our installer doing exactly this. For this I recommend the LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390; a compatible grease gun is the LubriMatic Standard-Duty, Lever Action Grease Gun # L30200.

We do have the seals that you need. For your 7,000 lb. Dexter Axle, the grease seal will either be the #GS-2125DL or the #GS-2250DL. The difference is the inner diameter of the seal. The #10-36 has an inner diameter of 2.250" and the #GS-2125DL…
