Does 2018 Ram 2500 6.5 Foot Bed with Pucks Require a Sliding Hitch for 2018 Heartland Gateway 3213CK

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 short bed with the factory puck system. Im want to pull my 2018 Heartland Gateway 3213CK with it but Im not sure I need a slider type 5th wheel hitch. The front of the trailer is tapered and cut back on the corners to I assume make up for a non slider hitch. Can you help?

Your 2018 Heartland Gateway 3213CK has their patented 88 degree turning radius they call tight turn technology. Your specific trailer does not need the sliding hitch unless you just want more peace of mind. If you want the additional turning clearance then I recommend using the sliding hitch # BWRVK3670 but you would be fine using a fixed mounted hitch and I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs # BWRVK3600.
These OEM Companion Hitches offer the best in materials, jaw connection for less jarring and chucking, and have the best reputation for durability. The sliding hitch weighs 303 lbs and the fixed hitch weighs 196 lbs so that may be a deciding factor for you even though both hitch heads (replacement # BWRVC3006) can be installed separately and weighs 73 lbs.
