Are the B and W Fifth Wheel Hitches Adjustable from Front To Back to get Kingpin Ahead of Axle
Question:
We just recently had the BandW RVK3600 installed on our new 2014 Ram 3500 long bed. Several people who have looked at it our concerned that the ball was NOT placed ahead of center, since the load capacity for the truck is sometimes in excess of 20,000 lbs. What is your opinion?

Expert Reply:
You do want the king pin of your trailer to be either directly above the center of the axle or slightly in front of it. The good news about the # BWRVK3600 that you have is that it is adjustable from front to back so you can move the head of your hitch forward if needed.
Check out the picture I attached to see the adjustability of the hitch. In the instructions that I also attached you will see a section on how to adjust the head as well.
