Adjusting Pivot Arm Placement for B&W Companion Hitch BWRVK3600

Question:

I have a 2015 2500 Ram diesel long bed crew cab with auto rear level pulling a 2019 Cougar 368 MBI,1980#hitch weight, 11575#, with 2405# carrying capacity, 394inch length. I have a BandW companion RVK 3600 ram puck system. Dealership placed pivot arms directly over rear axle, truck appears level but also feels a little light in the front, should I move the arm position 2inch front of the axle?

B&W designed their Companion 5th wheel hitch with adjustable pivot arms for exactly the reason you describe.

The pivot arms in the Ram OEM 25K version hitch # BWRVK3600 can be adjusted for both height and front-to-back position so that your 1980-lbs of hitch weight will land on the truck's suspension forward of axle centerline. The linked diagram illustrates the placement options.

Making this change to the pivot arms positions should reduce the feeling of the front end being a bit light on the road. You should feel both improved steering and braking performance by getting more of that pin weight on the front axle.
