On a bed that is shorter than 8 feet long you want to either use a slider hitch to allow you to make 90 degree turns or use a Sidewinder pin box replacement on the trailer. If you have a short bed 2014 Ram with underbed rails your best option to provide the best possible towing experience would be to get the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600 and then replace the pin box on your trailer with a Sidewinder.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so in order to pick out the correct one for you to use you would need to know the pin box model number. This information is on the pin box usually on a plate on the pin box. Once you have that information check out the FAQ article on Sidewinders that I attached. There is a chart that lists the correct Sidewinders for each pin box at the bottom of the page.

If you have an 8 foot bed a Sidewinder would not be necessary. You would just need the # BWRVK3600 and you would be good to go. If you are in the process of buying a truck I would recommend you get a long bed.
