Installing Fusion LED Combo Tail Light Bar # STL264RB on RV with Separate Wiring System

Question:

On my RV I’m installing these. The wiring on the RV has a wire for turn signal and a separate wire for brake lights. Can I connect these 2 wires to the to the 1 wire on light for turn and brake ?

Both the turn signal and brake light wire on your RV can be spliced directly to the stop/turn signal light wire on the Fusion LED Combination Tail Light Bar # STL264RB but the bar isn't going to function perfectly. This is because when braking and turning at the same time, the brake light is going to override the turn signal so that the bar remains constantly lit instead of blinking in this scenario.

If you are okay with this then the light bar will work well.

Otherwise you will want to use a 3-to-2 wire converter like the Roadmaster # RM-732 to combine the circuits before the light bar. This will both combine those separate circuits on the RV as well as ensure the turn signal overrides the brake light when both are activated at the same time so that the light bar flashes.

If you happen to have a 4-Way trailer connector on the RV you could also tap directly into those wires, as the 4-Way would already be converted to the needed combined wiring system.
