For your 2018 Ford Escape SE I recommend the etrailer.com Class III Trailer Hitch # E98866 because of its hidden crosstube design that allows for a clean factory appearance because only the receiver itself is visible (see attached image) and unique matte black finish that gives it a rugged look that better matches the vehicle's exterior. This particular hitch is also made right here in the USA.

This custom hitch will use existing holes in the Escape's frame for a no-drill installation and it has a 3,500 pound towing and 350 pound tongue weight capacity. I have attached an installation video on your vehicle that you can also use for reference.
