You will need a Tow Bar, if you do not have one already. I would recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2, part # RM-520. The Falcon 2 is our best selling tow bar, due to its reasonable cost and features like the self centering lock and storage latch that allow the bar to be folded up against the RV when not being used.

The Roadmaster Base Plate Kit you referenced, part # 483-1 is indeed the correct base plate kit for your Ranger.

You will also need safety cables. I would recommend using coiled cables that will not drag on the ground, like part # RM-643.

Your Ranger will need to be wired so the tail lights function along with those of the RV. The best way to wire the vehicle will depend on how often you were planning on flat towing it. If are only going to tow the Ranger infrequently, a magnetic mount system like part # RM-2120 might be your best bet. This system is easy to use, and will remain completely independent of the wiring system of your Ranger.

If you were planning on towing the Ranger frequently, a more permanent solution would be best. The Tail Light Isolating Diode System, part # 38955 would work well. For install details and a video showing a typical installation, use the provided links.

Many states now require a supplementary braking system. The Roadmaster Even Brake, part # RM-9400 is an easy-to-use option.

Before flat towing your Ranger, please consult your owners manual or Ford about recommendations for flat towing the vehicle. Many vehicles require additional modifications like drive line disconnects, transmission lube pumps or free wheeling hubs so that the vehicle can be flat towed without damaging it.
