How To Convert a 6-Pole On a Winnebago Motorhome to a 4-Way Flat or 7-Blade Round
Question:
I have a 1999 Winnebago grand tour Vectra class A it has a 6 pole round connector for trailer lights connection It has the normal ground, LT, RT, clearance light pinning The center is the reverse wire and the pin opposite the ground is stop light This doesnt agree with current 6 pole trailer connectors But I recall from somewhere that there was an older 6 pole this way Can you confirm that what I have measured and found is the way the older 6 pole Winnebagos were wired?

I do have an option for you but I don't have any wiring diagrams for the trailer wiring circuits on your motorhome. It sounds like you are trying to get the trailer wiring harness sorted so you can pull a trailer. If that is the case then what you are going to want to do is ditch the 6-pole as you would not be able to use this with any modern trailer connector, at least here in the US that is without several adapters. In order to tow a trailer with modern 4-way flat or 7-blade round you will need to first convert the separate brake and turn signals to combined brake and turn signals using the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter part # RM-732 then you can attach the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets part # HM40975-11998 to tow any modern trailer.
