This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper, on the passenger's side.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Really glad I came across the eTrailer site on the web-- installing this item myself saved a bunch of money over having a dealer do it. The connectors fit perfectly into the existing wiring harness and the whole installation took about 10 minutes. Now my trailer lights work perfectly. Very pleased.

Installed this harness in my 1995 Nissan Pickup (XE-V6 4x4, D21 Hardbody) and it works like an absolute charm. I purchased the harness to replace the one I installed in 2004, of another brand, that since failed. The nicest thing about this harness is that it piggybacks into the Y-junction for the rear lights (under the passenger side of the truck near chassis-end), and the outlet is a standard 4-prong flat trailer plug. This adapter is a splice-free, plug-and-play install. I paired it with a Curt 57405 License Plate Light Plug Connector, which all plays very nicely together on this old pickup.
Exact fit. Works perfect. Quick and only way to go. Made specifically for the application. Delivery time was excessive BUT well worth the wait. Would buy it again

Used it today... still working perfectly well.
This product arrived just as described, fit like a glove and functioned perfectly. E-trailer is my go-to for all my trailer and lighting needs as their prices are great, items are detailed well and customer service is top-notch. Highly recommend.
item is well made and was easy to install. You will need extra tie wraps to make a clean installation so extra wire doesn't hang down. After installation I plugged my utility trailer in and all lighting worked perfect.
Plug and play. I needed to install a 4 pin plug without wanting to splice cut and splice wires. Could not have been any easier to install. One year from installation and no issues. Thanks !
Excellent product. It is plug and play. Simple to find correct plug and install. All trailer lights work as they're supposed to.
Perfect fit looks factory and since it plugs into harness there is no splicing to corode or loosen over time. Very happy with this product.

Works as good as a day I installed it
