Parts Needed to Adapt 7-Way Combined Vehicle Wiring with Separate 6-Pole Trailer Wiring
Question:
How can you directly wire a 7 pole RV to a 6 pole trailer the 7 pole combines stop and tail and the 6 pole separates left , brake and right

Expert Reply:
The easiest way to connect an RV 7-way with combined stop/turn signals to a 6-pole trailer with separate stop and turn lights is to use a converter like # 118158. This takes in the combined stop/turn signal and splits it out into separate signals for stop lights (the red wire) and for turn lights (the green and yellow wires).
This is made easier by using a junction box like # HS381-9000 which provides both a place for making the trailer wiring connections and for housing the converter. You'll also need ring terminals like # 44-5310A and butt connectors like # DW05745-5 for making the connections.
