Easy To Install
Cant say I haul much
or very often with hitch but nice to know I have it if needed.
I use it most often with a 2 bike hitch mount rack which is just awesome.
Installed with plug in trailer light kit which I got through a plastic plug in spare tire well behind bumper by slightly enlarging the hole in the sheetmetal works great!

Perfect fit on my 08' Honda Fit. Chucked it on the back in a few minutes and hooked a small trailer I built to tow about 1000lbs across the country from Oregon to North Carolina. No issues.

by:
2007 Honda Fit

I bought this for my 2007 Honda Fit. It was easy to install and seems solid enough to do the kind of work I need from it. The only reason it is not 5 stars is it did not fit the Fit as well as i would have liked. The U-bolt had to be installed at an angle because the hitch was a bit too long. That didn't allow the nuts to sit flush to the hitch. I got them tight enough to do the work. Otherwise, it seems solid and carries the trailer well.

Looks great. Feels heavy and sturdy. Perfect installation, was easy enough.

Would have been much easier with 2 people since the hitch is a bit heavy to hold with one hand.

Overall process took 15 mins.

Takes only minutes to install. Feels pretty sturdy.

2008 Honda Fit

Great purchase! Installation should be very easy. One of the welded bolts in my frame broke free during the removal of the skid plate necessary for installing this. I was able to use mechanic's wire and fish one of the mounting bolts up through the frame to mount the hitch with the treads of the bolt sticking out and placed a lock washer and a nut on it. This seems to work fine. I was unable to get the alignment spot on (perhaps because of this), so I guess towing is out of the question. TBH I would be vary Leary about towing with this unless you are towing something very small/light. It is certainly fine for my bike rack and that is all I intend to use it for.

I was a bit intimidated thinking about the install (I'm not mechanically inclined by any means), but all the way around, a positive experience. I bought this receiver for my Honda Fit, so that I could use a hitch bike rack. Works as expected and the install was simple!

by:
2007 Honda Fit

simple to install took me longer to jack the car up and secure it on jacks than to install on the car. Tip use WD 40 or PB blaster on the original bolts of the skid plate to help remove them first. Also I got a receiver adapter 6" extension so when my bike rack is attached I can still open the hatch back door without taking the rack off.

This is very sturdy and easy to install. At first we couldn't find the part on our Honda Fit Sport that it is screwed to, but we decided to google "how to attach a trailer hitch to a Honda Fit Sport" and there was a great video on youtube by none other than e-trailer. Once we saw that you have to remove a piece of your car (I think that it just protected the car from bottoming out which the new hitch can do in it's place) to screw in the hitch, it took just a few minutes.

I'm very glad to have gotten this hitch, in the year I've had it it's allowed me to trailer motorcycles twice and move myself, saving terrific money over renting a truck. I only wish I had ordered it sooner.
Installation wasn't terribly difficult, though breaking loose the bolts where the hitch installs would likely have been quite unpleasant if I didn't have an 18" wrench handle.

Lightning fast shipping and easy install. I used a shoe box to prop up the hitch and bolt it on.

Still holding strong! Ive had a bike rack on it all year and the trailer hitch hasnt come off the frame or loosened.

by:

Installation was easy and quick. We used to it to tow a trailer and also for our bike rack. Excellent product! We bought the light installation kit as well and it was also easy to install. Happy customer

by:

Very sturdy. Able to install without raising vehicle off the pavement. About 30 minutes to install. "U" bolt slightly too wide to fit into holes at neck of Hitch but placing the nuts on end of threaded portion and two taps with a 5 lb hammer narrowed this enough for perfect "Honda Fit" HaHa. The holes for the bolts holding the protective pan were also the placement location for Hitch bolts so the holes and nuts were not rusty or dirty.
The wiring Harness 118420 was "Plug and Play", no splicing, and also took about 30 minutes to plan access and connect. Only one hole to drill for ground wire self tapping screw.

Love this hookup!
I ordered the trailer
hitch for the Honda Fit 2007.
While my honda fit cant tow large loads(450ibs limit), it's great to be able to hookup the trailer hitch style bike mounts to my vehicle now- much easier than the strap kind.
Also gives me more options for transporting stuff.
Took me some time to get the old bolts off my car, and the hitch mount is pretty sturdy/heavy so I needed someone to hold it while I screwed it in, but pretty straight forward process.

All in all, enjoying the product so far! Love what it adds to my vehicle.

Simple, fast, efficient, and high quality. Everything worked out perfectly! What a great business to work with! The ordering and delivery was a breeze - had my hitch a few days after ordering it. The instructions were very simple, no need to lift the car. In fact, the dimensions of the shipping box were such that it helped me lift the hitch into place. Genius! I completed the job myself in less than 30 minutes. So far, it's working great. It's the perfect alternative to expensive roof racks (my neighbor paid $2,000 for his). Thank you e-trailer.

The hitch is for my Honda fit it works great and looks good. Assistance for my wiring harness was spectacular. I would recommend them to anyone.

2007 Honda Fit

Really super solid and mounted to my 08 Honda Sport Fit perfectly. Removing my skid plate 3 rusty bolts and w-d took 15 minutes. The hitch was much easier to install maybe 15 minutes. Only issue was the two nuts that go on the U bolt one of the nuts was the wrong size and I needed to find a 3/8 course nut.
Very happy with the connection to my new bike rack Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack .

thank you!

Great product and great price. This hitch is to be used for a bicycle rack so it is exactly what I was looking for. etrailer shipped the hitch in two days, could not ask for a better transaction.

2007 Honda Fit

Great product, easy instructions. I use parking ramps to elevate the back of the car, and getting those in place and secured was more challenging than installing the hitch. holds my bike rack perfectly.

Ford Edge

Very easy to install. Since its steel and is a little heavy I suggest using the shipping box under your car to prop-up the front-side edge of the hitch bar when connecting the back-side by the tow loop. Doing so may save you a few minutes and some strained shoulder muscles.
Excellent customer service, received a day earlier than expected even with free shipping.
It was great doing business with etrailer.

Hitch came very quickly and installation was easy.
This will be a nice way for my son to carry bikes. Thank you for your speedy service.

  • Recommend Trailer Hitch and Hitch Bike Rack For 2007 Honda Fit Sport
Either The Curt Trailer Hitch, # 11058, or the Draw-Tite Hitch, # 24776, will fit your 2007 Honda Fit. If you will just be using the hitch for a bicycle rack, I would recommend the Draw-Tite # 24776 as it does not include a drawbar, pin and clip, which you would not need. You will be limited to a bike rack that is compatible with Class I hitches. I would recommend the Thule Camber 2-Bike Carrier, part # TH9058. You will be limited to carrying 2 bikes since you will be using a Class I hitch. If...

  • Trailer Hitch that Fits 2007 Honda Fit Base Model
For your 2007 Honda Fit base model we have the Draw Tite hitch part # 24776 as a confirmed fit but the Curt # C11058 is not a fit for the non-Sport models. For trailer wiring too you'd need the part # 118420. Then for a ball mount # 3593 and hitch balls # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.

  • Weight Capacity and Steel Standards for Curt and Draw-Tite Hitches for 2007 Honda FIt
I checked with Curt and for the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11058 you mentioned in your question for the 2007 Honda Fit, the tongue weight is in fact 150 pounds and the towing weight capacity is 1,500 pounds. The steel standard used for the Curt hitch is of A36 Low Carbon Steel. I was not able to obtain the steel standard for the Draw-Tite Hitch # 24776, however it does have a higher weight rating with a 200 pound tongue weight and 2,000 pound gross trailer weight. I have also included...

  • Best Trailer Hitch for 2007 Honda Fit
For your 2007 Honda Fit I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24776 because there is no drilling required for installation and you don't need to worry about the skid shield being removed for installation. Also the towing capacity is 25% higher than towing with Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11058. The towing capacity is 200 pound tongue weight and 2000 gross towing Weight. We currently have 2 trailer hitch receivers for your 2007 Honda Fit which are the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch part # 24776 and the Curt Trailer Hitch part # C11058. Both of these trailer hitches have a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. The ball mount that is best suited for your vehicle and hitch is part # C45521 which also has a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2008 Honda Fit Sport
The available attachment points for a trailer hitch on your 2008 Honda Fit Sport necessitate a hitch design that differs from what you typically think of as a trailer hitch. Truth be told there are many different hitch designs out there and all of them depend on where the available attachment points are on the vehicle. Your Fit Sport requires a specific design. • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2008 Honda Fit Sport
For your 2008 Honda Fit, I recommend the Curt Class I, part # C11058 that you referenced. It installs fairly quickly and easily onto your vehicle and adds a 1-1/4 inch hitch. I recommend adding the Curt Class II Drawbar, part # C45521. This is a basic drawbar with a 3/4 inch diameter ball hole, and you'll combine this with either a 1-7/8 inch diameter ball, part # A-80 or 2 inch diameter hitch ball, part # A-82, depending on your trailer's coupler size.
