Axle Over-Under Kit for Lifting 2019 Cougar 29RDB 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2018 Ram 2500. I recently purchased a 2019 Cougar 29RDB “Half Ton” 5th wheel and it sits really nose high because my Ram 2500 sits so high stock. Do you Know what lift kit I need? I’m guessing I need at least a 2-3” lift, but I don’t think it has Dexter Axles, and Keystone wasn’t too much help when I called.

The trailer axle over-under kits we offer are made for 2-3/8-inch or 3-inch diameter axles. Kit # K71-384-00 fits a 2-3/8-inch diameter axle and kit # K71-385-00 fits a 3-inch round axle. The axles do not have to be branded Dexter to use these kits, but they do need to have the matching diameter so that the u-bolts fit.
Each one will lift the trailer by the sum of the leaf spring stack height plus the axle diameter. So a trailer with 3-inch axles and with a 2-inch tall spring stack will be lifted by roughly 5-inches.
