I recommend part # C56320 for trailer wiring on your 2018 Ford Escape. It has a higher amp draw than the other option. It plugs in behind each tail light and then there's a wire that needs to be connected to the Escape's battery. Everything you need for the instal is included. I've actually linked a video from when we installed it.
I've also linked the video of us installing the etrailer.com htich, part # E98866, in a 2017 Escape. The process is the same with your 2018.
