Are Same Size Tires With Different Load Ranges Okay to Use

Question:

Hi, Iam a etrailer.com customer. I own a Dutchman Kodiak 24RBSL. I just bought 2 new tires 205/75/R14 load range D max. pressure 65 psi for one side of the trailer. The other side has 205/75/R14 load range C max. pressure 50 psi. Is this combination safe as long as I keep proper inflation in the tires and do not overload the maximum weight of the axles? Thank you.

Thanks for being a customer!

As for your question, even though your tires are the same size, ST205/75R14, using one with a load range of C such as # AM10234 and one with a load range of D such as # AM10235 that have different psi ratings means that the tires will wear unevenly and it is also possible the trailer won't track as well behind your tow vehicle because one side will build up more heat due to the load range D tires having a different ply rating.

Due to that I do recommend having the tires with the same size and load rating on your Dutchmen Kodiak 24RBSL.
