I have a 1997 Ford F-150 super cab that has the towing package with a 4 way plug. I need a brake controller and 7 way plug for my trailer with electric brakes. What would I need to convert this.

Since your 1997 Ford F-150 already has a factory 4-way the only part you will need in order to add a brake controller are the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way # 118242 which will upgrade your truck to a 7-way. I have added a photo showing you where the plug normally is on your truck - on the driver's side between the back tires and the end of the truck bed.
