You would want to use a Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch # L3980 on your door that is 1-1/2 inches thick. This latch can work on doors that are up to 1-1/16 inches thick and should work well for you.

The Locking Stainless Steel Flush Door Latch # L1833 that you referenced can only work on doors that are up to 7/8 of an inch thick and would not work for you.

The Bargman L-300 lock is no longer manufactured so a direct replacement lock is not available. The Redline Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch #L3980 that you referenced has a similar handle lock design and should work nicely as a replacement.…
