If your Class V receiver has a 2-1/2 inch hitch opening, the best adapter is the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # C45405

If both the Class IV and V hitches are 2 inches, there is no adapter needed.

Actually the only way to open the BakFlip MX4 is if you have the tailgate open. If you check out the picture I attached you'll see the release cable and that it's under the cover and only accessible with tailgate open.
