For your 2001 Dodge Dakota, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118329 is a confirmed fit. Another option is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55329 which is also a confirmed fit.
Either of these options will plug into your Dodge Dakota's wiring harness, which is located at the rear, along the inside of the frame rail on both the driver's and passenger's sides. I recommend using mounting bracket # 18144 along with # 18140 to safely store this connector.
