Where Do the Wires on the Universal Install Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers Get Installed?
Question:
I am almost finished installing the 7-way Connector on a 2014 Audi Q5 and need help finishing to tow a TT with electric brakes. It is connected to the 4-way “lights kit”, with the white wire ran to ground, black wire ran to 30 Amp fuse then battery, leaving the yellow reverse wire and blue brake wire needing connection to their proper places. Each install video for the 7-way wiring kit shows the blue and yellow wires being “taped off” and not used. The specific video for my car shows the same. I have a brake controller with the proper adapter to “plug and play” behind my dash panel. Can you help me find the proper place to run these remaining wires? Thanks in advance!

If you have a vehicle specific wiring harness for a brake controller then that would indicate that you have a factory tow package and subsequently would already have a 7-way at the back of your vehicle.
The universal 7-way connector # ETBC7 is meant to be used on vehicle's that don't have an existing 7-way and need to add one.
However if you were adding a 7-way then you'd need to route the blue wire to the output on your brake controller, and run the yellow wire to the reverse light circuit.
If you're trying to convey something different let me know and I'd be happy to help.
