Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2014 Subaru Impreza
Question:
Hello! I have a 2014 Subaru Impreza Sport it is not a WRX sadly. Im looking for a hitch where the receiver s down but the bar stays hidden up high. Im also looking for something light. It will not be used to hold more than 300 or 400 pounds. Would the C11120 work on my car? If not what is the next comparable hitch that would work for my car? Thanks oodles of poodles!

If your 2014 Subaru Impreza Sport is the 5-Door Wagon model, then the correct Curt hitch for your vehicle will be the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch # C11286. The Curt Trailer Hitch # C11120 referenced in your question is designed for the WRX and WRX Sti models, which you stated you do not have.
The Curt Class I Hitch # C11286 will work great on your vehicle and provide you with 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and has a 200 pound tongue weight capacity (the vertical weight that is applied downward on the hitch) and a 2,000 pound towing weight capacity. You will also want to check the owner's manual for your vehicle for its specific capacity, as it is likely lower than this. You will just need to follow whichever capacity is lower, the vehicle's or the hitch's.
The hitch receiver on this model will fit directly beneath the rear bumper on your Impreza. I have included an image of the hitch installed on your vehicle so you can see exactly how it will look. I have also attached an installation video that you can check out.
Please note that Curt requires that all non-trailer loads (bike racks, cargo carriers, etc) be supported by stabilizing straps like # 18050. I have included a video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works.
