Ground Clearance on Curt C12225
Question:
I have an 02 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. On level ground, I have only 9.5inch of clearance from the bottom of the fascia to the ground to begin with. I like the CURT because it has the tongue weight that I need but ground clearance is an issue for me. Please let me know how far below the fascia it hangs, or whatever the ground clearance is after installation. Thank you

We had the opportunity to test fit hitches on the Pontiac Grand Prix and found that the Curt Hitch # C12225 has just 7 1/2 inches of clearance from the bottom of the receiver to the ground.
The Curt Hitch # C12225 has a nice powder coat finish that tends to hold up better than that used by other brands, so the hitch will better fight rust and scratches. For the installation, it will be helpful to have a nylon tube brush like # 814092 and some spray lubricant for cleaning out the weld nuts on your vehicle. It may take several attempts because salt and road grime can become almost cemented into the weld nuts on older vehicles. You will also need some Silicone Gasket Maker like # LT37467 for the installation.
