Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring, and Ball Mount Compatible with 2015.5 Volvo XC60

Question:

I recently purchased a 2015.5 Volvo XC60 Premier T6 3.0L AWD. I plan to install a trailer hitch and wiring and I have a back up camera. What is all of the hubbub from Volvo about having a dealer installed hitch and wiring and programming a module. My inclination is to purchase a Draw Tite 75671 from you guys and the recommended wiring harness assembly that you guys would recommend. Please advise as I am inclined to buy everything from you guys and have my local mechanic to install who use to do nothing but hitch installs.

The 2015.5 Volvo XC60 leaves a little hubbub as you mentioned over model year fits. You won't need to worry about this as we have the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75671 confirmed to fit all 2010 thru 2017 models of the XC60.

This hitch does require a specific ball mount size to fit properly. I recommend the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 1" Rise, 2-1/4" Drop - 7-5/8" Long - 7,500 lbs # C45030 which is a confirmed fit. You will also want a hitch ball like # 63845 for this ball mount and a pin and clipe # PC3.

For your wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118739 which is confirmed to fit 2015-2017 models. This will definitely fit your vehicle and will use a hot lead from the battery to protect your vehicle wiring. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove the cargo door and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse. I've attached an article to assist in running that lead wire to your battery.

You won't have any issues with this installation especially with a former professional trailer hitch installer.
