Installation of Draw-Tite 75079 Trailer Hitch on 2004 Chevrolet Blazer With Under Body Spare Tire

Question:

Ref: 2004 4dr 2wd Blazer w/under body down spare tire. Is your Draw-Tite hitch a direct mount with no modifications as you say repositioning of spare tire may be required Thanks

The Draw-Tite # 75079 Class III Trailer Hitch is a direct mount to your 2004 Chevrolet Blazer with the under body spare tire. No fab work or modification of the vehicle is necessary. The repositioning of the spare tire means that you will need to lower the spare tire to allow front to rear movement of the spare tire in order to get fulll access to the frame members in order to install the hitch.

After installation of the hitch you will raise the spare back up into place. The spare tire will still be located under the vehicle, it just might just be an inch or two forward of its orignal position. It will still be stored under the vehicle and accessible when needed.

Also, if you have a original equipment trailer hitch on your vehicle now and are replacing it with the Hidden Hitch you will need to remove the factory hitch and purchase left and right bumper brackets from a GM dealer and install them on your vehicle.
