Pigtail Needed to Hardwire Tekonsha Brake Controller to a 2003 Ford F-250
Question:
I have traced as far as i could under the dash and cant locate the plug. It does look like the previous owner may have just cut the wires and spliced them to the controller. My question is, what is the part number i need to correct this? Not the double plug that actually connects a controller to the the truck, but the plug that should be hardwired to the truck itself. Thanks.

If you have the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 then the correct pigtail that you will need so that it can be hardwired to your 2003 Ford F-250 is part # 7894. This pigtail does come with each Tekonsha and Draw-Tite brake controller so if you were planning on purchasing one of those controllers you will not need to purchase the pigtail separately.
You will want to wire the pigtail as follows:
White - Ground
Blue - To 7-Way on F-250
Black - Run to Battery (Circuit Breaker # PK54520 will need to be installed if it isn't already)
Red - Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
You can be sure that the wires that you found are the correct ones by using a Circuit Tester # PTW2993 and testing for the 12V Power and the wire for the Stop Light. The 12V Power wire will be hot constantly while the Stop Light wire will only get hot when the brake pedal is pressed.
I have attached a picture of the correct wiring diagram for a brake controller.
