Comparing the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 and the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L

Question:

What is the difference between ETBC7L and ETBC7. What situations would be better for both. Seems like the ETBC7L is easy and alot less time consuming to install with less parts

There are a few differences between the Universal Installation Kit part # ETBC7 and the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit part # ETBC7L. The biggest one is that part # ETBC7 comes with both the power and brake output wire you will need to run to the cab/battery whereas the part # ETBC7L only comes with the power wire you will need to run to the battery. The reason for this is because part # ETBC7L is geared more towards wireless brake controllers like the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 where the blue brake outwire wire does not need to be run. The part # ETBC7 is geared more towards conventional brake controllers like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 where the blue brake output wire does need to be run.

Will this work as a braking system with my 2008 Monaco RV to Pull my Jeep 2019 Rubicon.

For a flat tow setup you'll need a different type of system to apply the brakes of your Jeep. The wiring kits mentioned above are for installing a brake controller for a trailer. I've linked our full selection of supplemental braking systems for a flat towed vehicle below - I specifically recommend the Brake Buddy # HM39524.
