Recommended Brake Replacements For 2000 Jayco Eagle 12SO

Question:

I cant seem to find the replacement master cylinder for our trailer listed. I know we have 10 x 2 1/4 brake pads and can find a backing plate set but dont see the master cylinder listed. It looks like it is held on with 4 bolts and looks like M/Cs recommended in other posts. If I removed it would it have a part number somewhere or does this trailer use a standard part? It does have fluid in the M/C and I need to check if there is crud at the bottom. There is fluid in the lines but I am not optimistic anything but the brake lines themselves are any good. We just bought the trailer and it has not been registered for about 10 years so I am assuming the brake components are all in need of replacement. Both the wheel cylinders seem to be seized up.

When replacing brakes on a trailer it is often more cost effective to get the entire assembly than to get the parts piece by piece. I recommend the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKUBRK-35 for your 2000 Jayco Eagle 12SO. However, if you just want the brake cylinder, I recommend the Replacement Wheel Cylinder for 10" and 12" Hydraulic Brakes - Uni-Servo - Right Hand # AKBRKR-H7-R and left hand # AKBRKR-H7-L.

For the shoes, I recommend the 10" X 2-1/4" Hydraulic Brake Shoe/Lining (One Wheel) # BP04-120. For the adjuster, the Brake Adjuster for 10" and 12" Trailer Brake Assemblies # BP10-060. For the springs the Shoe Return Spring for 10" and 12" Brake Assemblies # BP07-105.

If you will be doing the work and don't have a brake bleeder kit, I recommend the Hand Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder # PTW87030. This vacuum will help you get all the air out of your lines without needing an extra set of hands. You may also be interested in changing your brake lines. I recommend the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18' # 18SI-BLKIT if you have a single axle trailer, but have linked the page to all the brake line kits for your convenience.
