Comparison of Curt or Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver for Carrying Bikes on a 2016 Mazda CX-3

Question:

We have a Curt Hitch on our Mazda CX-3 - when our two bikes are on the back there is a wicked amount of play and bounce on the hitch. I was wondering if the Drawtight hitch would have the same problem or is that a somewhat better design. We have the stabilizing straps but due to the rear spoiler on the car, the strap has caused a hairline split in the rear spoiler on the car. Thanks for your help.

Helpful Expert Reply:

Both the Curt # C11418 and Draw-Tite # 24933 trailer hitch receivers install into the same location as each other on your 2016 Mazda CX-3. However, the Draw-Tite does not require the use of the support strap # 18050 like the Curt does.

Both racks are Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers so I doubt you will have a much different ride using the Draw-Tite instead of the Curt.

Have you tried an anti-rattle device on the bike rack? If you can tell me the make and model of the bike rack we may have a solution for you.
