Choosing Beteween Curt or Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitches for 2020 Mazda CX-5
Question:
I want a 2 inch hitch for my 2020 Mazda CX5. Which one do I need? I don't know the difference between the Curt and Draw-Tite. I've heard of Draw-Tite, but not Curt.

Draw-Tite has been around a lot longer than Curt, but both make a high quality product, you can't go wrong either way.
If your CX-5 has a Diesel motor, you'll use the Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # DR44FR which is the only fit offered. If you have the gasoline engine, you'll have the choice between the Curt # C13315 or the Draw-Tite # 76138 that you'd looked at. Both hitches are a concealed design, which means that once they're installed, everything but the square receiver tube and the safety chain hooks are concealed behind the rear bumper, once installed they'd both look the same.
The Curt hitch mounting flanges attach to the side of the frame members, while the Draw-Tite attaches to the underside of the frame members. Both hitches share the same installation difficulty rating.
In conclusion, although they attach to the vehicle a bit differently, I would consider both hitches to be equal as far as quality goes. You could choose either, and end up with an excellent hitch. If I had to make a choice, I'd go with the Curt, as their powder coating seems to be slightly more durable.
If plan on using the hitch for light duty towing, you'll need a few other items to complete your towing system. For a trailer wiring harness, use # 118746. For a ball mount, # C45070 should put your trailer ball pretty close to the average coupler height of about 17 inches. For a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball use # 19260 or # 63845 for a 2 inch.
