Question:

I am looking for hitch for 2014 Audi Q4. I would like to know which hitch Curt #C13136 or Draw-Tite #75940 would provide more ground clearance after installed ? thanks

Between the Curt # C13136 and Draw-Tite # 75940 trailer hitch receivers for the 2014 Audi Q5 the Draw-Tite has more ground clearance.

The Draw-Tite installs into the bumper behind a removable piece of fascia that is on the Q5. If this piece of fascia is not on your model then the fascia will need to be cut. The Curt, on the other hand, installs underneath the bumper. So the entire cross beam of the hitch receiver is visible. On the Draw-Tite all you see if the receiver opening and safety chain loops.

I've linked videos of both hitches being installed for you.

If you're going to be towing with your Audi you'll also need trailer wiring. I recommend the Tekonsha # 119250KIT. This will provide you with a 4-way trailer connector to power the trailer's lights.

You'll also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I've attached link of our selection of ball mounts for a 2 inch hitch receiver as well as an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop you may need. Once you choose a ball mount you can then choose a hitch ball to fit it.

One way to make choosing a ball mount easier is to go with an adjustable ball mount like the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10038B. It features the ability to be flipped under the hitch when not using it and will provide up to 5-1/2 inches of rise or 5 inches of drop.

For a pin and clip to fit you can use # PC3 or if you'd like to have a locking pin you can use # BX8858.

I've also included links to some articles on towing that you might find helpful.
