Subaru Forester 2017 Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation

1.25 factory installed hitch is not compatible with most Thule bike racks because the pin hole is placed very far forward. The post cannot be inserted fully if you want the holes to align. Is there a safe and acceptable workaround e.g. 1.25 to 2.0 extension?

For a bike rack that works well with the shallow hitch pin you have on your 2017 Subaru 1-1/4 inch hitch we have the Lets Go Aero Bike rack part # B01748 that will work well as it is compatible and a great rack.
