Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For 2016 Chevrolet Trax
Question:
Where did your towing weight verification information for the Chevy Trax 2016, come from?

The information we get for vehicle towing capacity is done with research of the vehicle and the owner's manuals. For yoru 2016 Trax on page 229 of the owner's manual it states the vehicle is neither designed nor intended to tow a trailer. With that being said, many folks will tow with the vehicle anyway so we do have items like trailer hitches and wiring available. Trailer hitches can be installed so you can use them for items like cargo baskets, bike racks.
The trailer hitch I recommend for your Trax is the Curt, part # C11527. This is a Class l hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
The wiring harness we offer that is designed for the vehicle is part # C59496. This kit includes everything needed as well as a circuit tester to identify the wiring on the vehicle when installing the harness.
If you want to let me know what you wish to use the trailer hitch for I will be glad to make some recommendations that will work for you.
