Can Snap-Loc E-Track Self Tapping Screws SL99FR Be Used To Install E-Tracks To Metal Under 3/4" Wood

Question:

Are the 1-1/4inch Snap-Loc E-Track Self-Drilling Metal Screws going to be long enough for my trailer? I have an enclosed trailer that I am going to install 5foot long etracks in the floor. The floor is 3/4inch plywood and then it would go into metal floor joist. So I was not sure after it passed thru the etrack and floor if the treads would reach the metal joist. Looks like atleast a 1/4inch or more is the self tapping.

That is going to come down the thickness/type of metal underneath the 3/4" plywood floor on your trailer.

If the metal is the frame or crossmember and is made of steel then the Snap-Loc E-Track Self-Drilling Metal Screws - Qty 20 # SL99FR would be fine for installing the e-tracks to the trailer floor, as you will have close to 3/8" thread engagement, though adding a few nuts and bolts would be a good idea as well.

If the metal is aluminum you will want to just use more nuts and bolts to add strength, and mix a few self tapping screws here and there.

I included a video of the # SL99FR for you to take a look at.
