Is It Safe To Tow and What Is Weight Capacity When Using Buyers Product Receiver Adapter # 337RTA302
Question:
Is this reduce safe to tow with? I know with most reducers you are restricted to how much weight you can tow

Yes, it is safe to tow with the Buyers Products 3" to 2" Receiver Tube Adapter # 337RTA302. This reducer will reduce the 3 Inch opening on your hitch to a 2 Inch opening.
I contacted our representative at Buyers Products, and he informed me that the adapter will not cut down the weight or the tongue weight capacity of your hitch. Part # 337RTA302 does not extend out far enough to reduce the weight capacity, as would be the case with a hitch extender. He said, that as long as you use a regular draw bar and stay within the capacity of your hitch you will be fine. You will need to also stay within the weight limit of the adapter # 337RTA302 of 12,000 pounds and 1,200 pound tongue weight capacity.
I have linked an FAQ on hitch adapters, reducers and extenders that may be of good reference.
