Is there a Specific Size Weld Needed to Install Tie Down # J-705 to Reach the Maximum Capacity

What size weld is needed on this to assure that the full capacity of this will be attained?

The short answer is as big of a weld as you can get. There isn't a specified weld size for tie down # J-705 but you will have to weld the whole bracket to the surface it will be attached to. Since it has such a high rating it is possible that the tie down itself will have a higher capacity than what it is welded to. So you may have to reinforce the area with additional steel.
