Is Strength of E-Tracks Based on Direction They Support Weight

Question:

e-tracks. what direction were they designed to have pressure. For securing loads on a trailer I intend to put the e-tracks down each side and across the front and back. Vertical or horizontal? Seems like they are designed to give maximum hold based on direction. On a 2inch wood floor will wood screws be enough? Thank you.

The E-tracks were designed to give quite a bit of flexibility in how they can support weight. But in general forward to back would be a bit stronger just based on how the mounting holes line up and the leverage they would have over the cargo. If the angles aren't severe there wouldn't be a noticeable difference.

On a two inch wood floor wood screws would be just fine. I would go with at least every other hole used on the tracks for max strength.
