Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of black powder-coated 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

Everything pretty much fit like it should. Seemed to reduce the heavy rocking when You make sudden turns or coming out of a parking lot where the road is at a different level.

What a serious improvement on my motorhome made it so stable. It’s actually unbelievable how nice it drives now easy to install fit perfect. Just amazes me every time I drive it how nice it is to drive. I don’t feel like I’m gonna roll over anymore.

I love both of the Roadmaster anti-sway bars I had installed right before a trip to Iowa. I purchased bushing kits for front and rear but, I didn't know the front sway bar came with new bushings. So I have an extra front sway bar bushing kit. The biggest difference I noticed right away was the handling on the highway. The people I talked to at etrailer were very helpful and always are when I call. Thanks

Wow, This sway bar is big, heavy, beefy and strong. I saw all the great reviews but was still surprised when I got it. Installation was straight forward but I did have to have a mechanic shop jack the RV up and take the huge bolts of the U-bolts because my impact wrench was not strong enough. I've only put a few mines on it since I installed it but I have already noticed a difference.

Installed on a Tiffin Allegro 31SA by Whited Truck and RV Center in Auburn, Maine. The Roadmaster anti-sway bar and associated parts are rugged and of high quality. Installation time was about 3 hours; drilling the frame to secure brackets took the longest time. This anti-sway bar improved handing and reduced sway, especially on rough secondary roads.

Excellent product. Well made. Great instructions. Easy install with proper tools.
Made an incredible improvement in the handling of our 35 ft MOTORCOACH with F53 chassis.
All necessary hardware was included. Delivery and shipping by etrailer was spot on.
Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to greatly decrease sway in a coach.

I just received the product, which weighs in at "Over 70 pounds" according to the UPS tape attached, and will be returning it unopened once I receive the Return Authorization slip. Please note that this action had to be taken because of "Operator Headspace"on MY PART !!! I failed to properly read the requirements and limitations in their advertisement. The 1139-143 is for a motorhome with the Ford F-53 for an up to a max of 34 foot motorhomes. Mine is a 37 foot and need the one for 18,000 to 24,000 lb. My mistake and the correct one is on the way thanks to the help from the wonderful service personnel at etrailer.com. Great service for less than smart people like me... Thank you so much etrailer.com!!!

  • Recommendation for Roadmaster Front and Rear Sway Bars for a 2005 Fleetwood Bounder 34F
Yes I can! For a front sway bar to fit your 2005 Fleetwood Bounder 34F built on a Workhorse W22 chassis you would want the Roadmaster Front Sway Bar part # RM-1259-105 and for a rear sway bar you would want the part # RM-1259-108. I confirmed these fits with Roadmaster so they will work very well for your vehicle.

  • Suspension Enhancement for 2005 Winnebago 33V Class A Built on Ford F-53 V10 Chassis
Anti-sway bars and steering stabilizers will improve the ride quality of almost any RV. Certainly one like your 2005 Winnie Adventurer 33V, which could have a good number of miles on it, will benefit from some suspension support to reduce sway. The standard base chassis for your 2005 Winnie 33V is the Ford F-53 with 6.8L V10. For this configuration I recommend rear anti-sway bar # RM-1139-143 which works along with the factory sway bar to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. Some...

  • Sway Bar for 2015 Winnebago Itasca Ellipse Class A Motorhome Built on Freightliner Chassis
According to my research your 2015 Winnebago Itasca Ellipse Class A motorhome is built on a Freightliner M2 chassis. If your manual indicates this, and that this (impressive) motorhome has an 8K-rated front axle then we do offer a front anti-sway bar from Roadmaster. Part # RM-1209-116 is a kit that includes the sway bar, bushings, mounting brackets and hardware. The linked photo illustrates the kit components. The rear sway bar you referenced fits only Ford F-53-based motor homes.

Since your GVWR is 20,500 lbs and you're less than 34' long the best option is the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-143 you were looking at. Your factory U-bolts will need to be long enough to account for the extra 1/2" of thickness and still have at least 3 threads exposed past the nut when properly installed. Measure your current U-bolts to see how much it extends past the nut to determine if they will work or not. If they are too short, you will also need the Extended Round U-Bolt...

If you want the driving experience to be as rock solid as possible then a front and rear anti-sway bar and steering stabilizer is the way to go! I did a little bit of research and it looks like 2006 Fleetwood Bounder with a gas engine was built on a Ford F53 chassis like you mentioned, so the correct rear anti-sway bar for your rig with a GVWR of 20,500-lbs is the Roadmaster # RM-1139-143. It should be noted that the factory u-bolt may not be long enough for the factory nut, washer and 1/2" plate when used with this bar.
