Fishwire Tips and Spacer Block Orientation to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Chevy Equinox
Question:
I have finally cleaned the threads out and can now install the hitch. The installation paper said to put a kink in the wire near the metal plates to prevent them from interfering with the carriage bolts. Do you have an example of that? Also is there a particular way the metal plates need to go in the frame as they are not symmetrical. I could not tell from the video as they do it so fast. Any pointers to make that part of the installation go easy? The plates look like they barely fit in the frame rail long ways but if you turn them sideways, they will fit better. Thanks

By kinking the wire it just means you will bend it somewhere between the bolt and the spacer so that when you pull the bolt through it doesn't get stuck inside the frame from being bound up with the block.
The blocks do not go in the frame any certain way. Once you start to tighten them the block will turn as well until it hits the side of the frame allowing you to tighten the bolt without it spinning.
I have actually linked you 3 videos showing installation of Curt hitch # 13591. They are not all 2013 Chevy Equinox models but the installation is the same on all of them.
