Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2016 Toyota Camry
Question:
Do you have a video for installation of a hitch on a 2016 Toyota Camry. I have installed hitches on my older Camrys and a Rav 4, but have never had to drill holes into the frame. The instructions indicate drilling is required.

When installing a trailer hitch on your 2016 Camry, you will need to drill a couple holes in the frame as you mention. We do have a video of a hitch being installed on a Camry. It is a different year but the installation is the same. All of the hitches we offer for your Camry have a similar installation.
The trailer hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 36540. This is a Class ll hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. I recommend this hitch over the Curt Hitch, part # C12107 because the Curt hitch requires the use of a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 when using the hitch for all non-trailer loads or the warranty is voided. This is not the case with the Draw-Tite hitch.
When installing the hitch, you will also use existing holes located in the frame and they can sometimes be dirty and that makes it tough to thread the hardware into so I recommend using a nylon brush like part # 814092 to clean the holes out.
If you are planning on doing some light towing I recommend a ball mount like part # 36071. This ball mount has a 2-5/8 inch rise or 3-1/4 inch drop. For a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19256 and for a 2 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19258.
If you do not have trailer wiring I recommend part # 118405. This plugs into the vehicle wiring in the rear cargo area and you then run a hot lead wire to the positive battery post.
If you plan on using the trailer hitch for anything else you can let me know and I will be glad to make some recommendations that will work for you.
