When installing trailer suspension you will need to completely mock up the axle to make sure you have the correct tongue weight. One concern is you saying that you are converting the trailer with this new suspension. Changing suspension and adding an axle will not increase the load carrying capacity of the trailer.

The best way to install your system is to put the suspension all together and clamp it in place with the rear shackles at a very slight angle rearward when the trailer is lowered and wheels are on the ground. You will need to adjust the placement of the suspension. I have attached a chart that explains how to calculate axle placement on a trailer.

I have attached a helpful article that explains trailer suspension you can check out. Installing a trailer suspension requires precise layout so the trailer will be safe and handle properly without trailer sway. If you are unsure of the process a local shop or fabrication shop can help you with installation of the parts.
