How to Determine Correct Leaf Springs For 3,500 lb Axle

Question:

I need to replace springs on 1994 Bigfoot 17 travel trailer. Currently have 5-spring two-eye 1 3/4 wide springs. Axle stamped as 3500#. Shackle links are 3 center to center 1 1/4 wide 3 wet bolts. Thx in advance. Im in favor of increasing rating if hat makes sense. Do you know exactly what parts I need for this project?

I can help you determine the right replacement leaf springs for your travel trailer, though the one thing you didn't mention was the length you need, so you'll have to do some measuring. It's pretty easy though, as you'll just have to measure your current leaf springs from center-to-center of the spring eyes. Leaf springs also flatten a bit over time, so you should go with ones that measure a bit shorter than what you currently have.

For example, if your leaf springs measured 22-3/4 inches you could go with the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 23-1/8" Long # e59SR.

I have added a link below to our entire selection of leaf springs for you which you can filter by length. For shackle straps the closest we have to 3 inches center to center is the 3-1/8 inch center to center Shackle Strap # TRSL313. For 3 inch wet bolts use part # 126B2.
