When Should A Trailer Use 2 Friction Sway Control Units

Question:

I am looking at purchasing the following kit Reese Friction Sway Control Kit - Economy - by Draw-Tite, Reese and Hidden Hitch My question is do I need 1 or two? My trailer is a total of 35.8foot long and max loaded weight wet weight is 10500 pounds. I have found that a lot of online places recommend 2 if over 30foot long. I already have the Pro-series WD hitch to suite that allows for the sway bars to be added to it Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:

Due to the length of your trailer I would recommend 2 sway control units like the part # 83660. Typically we recommend two sway control units when the trailer is over 26 feet long.

I would like to point out that your best defense against sway is proper trailer loading. Sway is usually caused by not having enough tongue weight.
